Interactive Remote Control -- Mouse over the image of the Digital Remote for an interactive demonstration
To explore the Digital Remote, move the mouse cursor over the buttons on the photo of the remote. As the mouse cursor moves across the remote, a description appears describing the use of each button.

|
AUX Button
|
|
Pressing the AUX Button will put the remote in AUX mode. Before the AUX Button can operate your auxiliary device, the Digital Remote must be programmed to control the device. For help on programming your Digital Remote to work with your VCR, press 'P' on your computer keyboard now.

VCR Button
|
|
Pressing the VCR Button will put the remote in VCR mode. Before the VCR Button can operate the VCR, the Digital Remote must be programmed to control the VCR. For help on programming your Digital Remote to work with your VCR, press 'P' on your computer keyboard now.

TV Button
|
|
Pressing the TV Button will put the remote in TV mode. Before the button can operate the TV, the Digital Remote must be programmed to control the TV. For help on programming the Digital Remote to work with your TV, press 'P' on your computer keyboard now.

Digital SmartBox power button (CBL)
|
|
Pressing the CBL Button will put the remote in Cable mode. This button is pre-programmed to control the Digital SmartBox.

MUTE Button
|
|
Pressing the MUTE button will turn off the sound. When MUTE is first pressed, the word "MUTE" displays momentarily on the TV screen indicating the audio is off. The sound remains muted until it the MUTE button is pressed again, or until the VOL + button is pressed.

Page Up Button
|
|
The PAGE SCROLL button allows quickly browsing program menus by scrolling more than one line at a time. In the Navigator program guide, the button scrolls through four lines each time the button is pressed. In the General Settings menu, the PAGE SCROLL button scrolls through five items for each press. Scroll up by pressing the '+' button, or scroll down by pressing the '-' button.

|

EXIT Button

|
Press the EXIT button to leave any programming menu or option.

INFO button
|
|
Pressing the INFO button shows or hides the channel banner located at the bottom of the TV screen. Pressing INFO once displays the program title. Pressing INFO twice displays both the title and a brief description of the program. To remove or close the channel bar press INFO a third time, or press the EXIT button.

|
CURSOR UP Button
|
|
The CURSOR UP button, along with other cursor buttons, allows navigation through program menus and options. Pressing any of the cursor buttons moves the highlight in the direction pressed. When the Channel Banner displays, pressing the CURSOR UP or CURSOR DOWN button displays programs that are playing on other channels at the current time.

CURSOR DOWN button

|
The CURSOR DOWN button, along with other cursor buttons, allows navigation through program menus and options. Pressing any of the cursor buttons moves the highlight in the direction pressed. OK Button
|
|
Pressing the OK button activates the currently highlighted item in most menus. While browsing channels through the Program Guide (GUIDE) or Channel Banner (INFO), pressing the OK button tunes to the highlighted program. If you select a program scheduled for a later time, you will have the opportunity to set an onscreen reminder. After setting the program reminder, you can return to viewing any channel. A program reminder will display a few minutes before the program start. Pressing the OK button automatically tunes to the pre-selected program.

GUIDE button
|
|
Pressing the GUIDE button displays the Navigator Interactive On-Screen Program Guide to display on the TV screen. This guide allows viewing complete listings and brief descriptions of programs available on other channels. To view additional program information, press the INFO button while the on-screen guide in displayed on your TV. Pressing the GUIDE button will remove or close the on-screen guide.

VOL button
|
If your remote has been programmed to control the volume on your TV, use the VOL button to increase or decrease the volume. Press the '+' button to increase the volume or the '-' button to decrease the volume on your TV.

LAST button
|
|
Pressing the LAST button tunes to the last channel you were watching.
|
|
|
FAV or Favorite Button
|
Pressing the FAV button tunes to one of the channels that has been programmed in the remote as a favorite channel. Pressing the button repeatedly cycles through all channels that have been programmed as favorites. To program or clear the favorites one channel at a time, press the SETTINGS button, and use the LEFT or RIGHT cursor buttons, or the SELECT button, to designate "YES" of "NO" for the channel you are watching. To save the selection, press the EXIT button, or change the channel. Repeat the process to set up other favorites.
To clear channels from the menu of your favorites, press SETTINGS, then the yellow A" button. From the General Settings screen, highlight “Favorite Channels” and press SELECT. Favorite channels are indicated by "blue stars." To remove a channel, highlight it, and press SELECT. Repeat for other channels. To clear ALL favorite selections, page up using the PAGE SCROLL + button, highlight "Clear All" and press SELECT.

CH button
|
|
Use the CH button to change the currently tuned channel up (CH +) or down (CH -) by one channel.

|
|
A button
|
The yellow "A" button is a multi-function button. The associated actions of this button vary based on the programming menu or option selected. Simply follow the on-screen instructions regarding use of this button.
HINT: You can skip in increments of 100 by pressing the "A" button while viewing the Interactive On-Screen Program Guide.

|
B button
|
|
The blue "B" button is a multi-function button. The associated actions of this button vary based on the programming menu or option selected. Follow the on-screen instructions about using this button.

|
C button
|
|
The red "C" button is a multi-function button. The associated actions of this button vary based on the programming menu or option selected. Follow the on-screen instructions regarding use of this button.

|
Number buttons
|
|
Press the number buttons to tune to the desired channel. While in the Navigator Interactive On-Screen Program Guide, pressing the number buttons and the SELECT button will move the highlight to the selected channel. To view the highlighted program, press the SELECT button again. If you are viewing the channel bar, pressing any of the number buttons and the SELECT button will change to the desired channel.

BYPASS button
|
Pressing the BYPASS button allows bypassing the Digital SmartBox, and tuning the TV. This is similar to turning the Digital SmartBox off, but allows you to
watch the TV while leaving the Digital SmartBox on to record programs on the VCR. Pressing the BYPASS
button again tunes back to the Digital SmartBox.
Note: When turning the bypass feature off to tune back to the Digital SmartBox, be sure to
change the TV to channel 3. The TV must be set to channel 3 when tuned to the Digital SmartBox.

Rewind button
|
Use the Rewind button to rewind the currently playing VCR tape or VOD movie. First, check to see that the VCR/VOD button is in the correct mode.(Mouse over or click the VCR/VOD button/switch on this interactive remote demo for details).
